  • International Day of Happiness

    Come celebrate International Happiness Day.Dia da Felicidade Cartazz
    Happiness is a durable state of fulfilment, satisfaction, and physical and psychic balance, in which suffering and restlessness are transformed into emotions or feelings ranging from contentment to intense joy or jubilation.
    Happiness also has the meaning of spiritual well-being or inner peace.
    Happiness should always be treated as a primary issue in our society, which often does not give it its due value.

    We live a tormented life span, which can not depend on the exploits of superficial and individual Happiness, with the risk of wandering competently through the landscapes of our decay. Happiness - as common resources, as a hope - can not be for energy consumption.
    Peace is so difficult. A harmony. Trust in the future. The deep comprehension of the other. Life with integral quality.
    So the time for coherence and health has come. The time to create new patrimonies of humanity. Only a movement of empathy will keep us from moral ruin.
    Studying Hope, knowing what's best for the future, and discussing who brings the quality of life (in a Public Hearing format, through a method developed by Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo), are ways of traveling for beauty and the future that unites We need a choreography of new gestures, new conversations, original languages, new human and spiritual marks.

  • H-20 | WOHASU® Government Track
    THE H-20 OR “HAPPY 20”

    world peace

    Much like the G20 focuses on growth economics, the H-20 examines wellbeing economics. Social and cultural values differ among countries and within countries. Growth and GDP focus often disconnect policy from citizen aspirations. Science demonstrates the linkage between citizen perceived happiness and satisfaction in government performance.
    Invited government leaders, economists, academics, activists, and researchers discuss wellbeing policy. Attendees share societal and national wellbeing policy challenges and good practices.

    The H-20 focuses on “Smart Prosperity:”
    Smart prosperity driven by policy simplification and the latest science;
    Smart social investment practices for lasting national peace and social cohesion;
    Smart economic returns from wellbeing and happiness policy;
    Smart orchestration of health, employment, education, and inclusion policy

    The H-20 Government Summit is an invitation-only roundtable dialog uniting global government leaders, economists, academics, activists and researchers motivated to improve national and societal well-being. Just as the G-20 Summit focuses on strengthening global economies, the H-20 Summit focuses on strengthening civic and public happiness. Ministers and senior government leaders from post-conflict and developing nations are invited.

    The Future of Government Effectiveness is the H-20 mandate. Modern public policy, social cohesion and sustainable peace is our 2019 theme. Peace and the respect for human dignity are key to constructing environments where people can thrive. Education is an important driving force towards building bridges for social cohesion and eliminating conflict.

    The H-20 Lisbon 2019, in partnership with the University of Lisbon and UNESCO, is privileged with the High Sponsorship of the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic, as well as many other Portuguese and international entities from more than 20 countries. Government participants from Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, Jamaica, Kosovo, Liberia, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Timor-Leste, United Kingdom, Colombia and the United Arab Emirates have attended previous Summits.

    WOHASU, the social enterprise that organizes the World Happiness Summit and H-20, celebrates the United Nations International Day of Happiness (decreed by the General Assembly to be observed every March 20). The World Happiness Report, produced yearly by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, demonstrates that effective public policy requires more than an economic lens. Well-being, social protection, inclusion, equality and healthy environments support country-context policy performance. The WOHASU mission is to highlight happiness as a crucial element of development and societal well-being.

  • Workshop on "Pedagogy of Cooperation and practices of living in the context of organizations"

    Cartaz Evento 1

    A Workshop on "Pedagogy of Cooperation and practices of living in the context of organizations" was held on July 9, 2018 at the ISCSP. The workshop was facilitated by the Brazilian specialist in Pedagogy of Cooperation and Peace, Cambises Alves.Many of the current challenges faced by Organizations have to do with the development of Cooperation among employees at the whole system’s level. Great pressures for results and competitive standards (where the other is viewed as an adversary rather than a partner) end up generating consequences such as isolation, unnecessary competition, and staggered conflicts. To change this scenario, we believe that it is necessary to create environments capable of promoting collaboration, not only as a principle but as a work practice, recognizing it as a way to generate more productivity, optimize resources and promote peace and well- being, at the personal and collective realms.

  • Positive Quotidians and the Imperative of Peace: Contributions of Positive Language Psychology Portuguese

    Congresso Psicologia Aplicada VF

    Between 1 and 3 March 2018, a scientific event was held at the ISCSP, attended by about 150 lecturers, Portuguese and Brazilian, under the theme "Positive Quotidians and the Imperative of Peace: Contributions of Positive Language Psychology Portuguese. "

    The event took into consideration the omnipresence and urgency of the need for more peaceful and positive lives in common, brings together in this international meeting the Portuguese voices of researchers and practitioners who, in a concrete way, bring vital contributions to human existence.

    Undoubtedly, global peace, at the same time so vulnerable and so indispensable, is constantly and dramatically challenged in our  world today. By studying and promoting personal and public happiness, and by creating scientifically validated forms of psychological and relational well-being, it has contributed in many ways to understanding and empowering more peaceful, fairer and more humane everyday lives. As a scientific expression and as an expression of culture, it now has a fundamental, individual, social and political role, which also needs multiple worldviews to be more useful and more global.
